The OCT scan is a quick and non-invasive method for diagnosis of diseases of the ocular fundus – macula and optic nerve. The latest software version makes possible the measuring of iridocorneal angle with anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT). OCT imaging is a very precise method for diagnosis with a high resolution of the images (many times more than MRI), which gives a slice image or a 3D image of the examined structure. It is extremely useful for diseases of the ocular fundus such as age-related macular degeneration, before and after Avastine treatment, central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC), cystoid diabetic macular edema (CME), glaucomatous changes in the disc of the optic nerve and others.
