Surgery can be done under local or general anaesthesia. Duration of the procedure depends on the complexity of each case. The surgeon usually starts with the upper eyelids and then works on the lower ones. The incisions are made along the natural folds.\u00a0 Fat herniations are removed according to the type of technique used by the surgeon. Excessive skin is excised. If there is no excessive skin the fat removal can be done without external incision through trans-conjuctival blepharoplasty. Incisions are closed with very fine stitches. The stitches are bandaged and ice could be placed on it. After healing no scars are seen.
\nYou don\u2019t have to spend the night in the Medical Eye Centre. Usually there will be swelling and bruising which disappear within 10-15 days. Discomfort and light pain continue for 2-3 days. Stitches are removed on the 5th or 6th day after the surgery. You should avoid strenuous visual activities for 2-3 weeks.<\/p>\n
